A 60-year-old woman, Asabi Adebayo has been arrested by the police in Oyo state for allegedly buying five babies at N5million from a ‘child dealer’ in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to reports, the suspect, who is a U.S returnee revealed how she planned to fly the babies abroad for sale. when Asabi was at an orphanage in Ibadan, Oyo state, she wanted to obtain a certified police report for the babies before she was exposed with the children alongside other suspects on Thursday at the Eleyele Police Headquarters,
The Commissioner of Police, CP, Leye Oyebade confirmed the arrest saying; “the woman would have escaped if not for the patriotic effort of the officials of the orphanage who reported the matter at the Iyaganku Police Station
