Rape: Court Don Admit CCTV Footage As Evidence Against Baba Ijesha

The CCTV footage wey capture the moment wey Yoruba actor, Baba Ijesha  sexually assault a 14-year-old girl  on Monday, July 26 don dey admitted as evidence by the special offence courts unit of the Lagos state high court.

This na after the state director of public prosecution (DPP), Olayinka Adeyemi present three witnesses including Comedienne Princess against the actor.

Baba Ijesha counsel,  Babatunde Ogala yarn;

“Primary evidence is not secondary evidence. The maker of the CCTV footage is the primary evidence. The CD is secondary evidence which is not admissible.”

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo however ruled that the footage can be admitted in the case as the witness and prosecution had laid enough foundation for its admission.

Justice Taiwo said;

“She (Princess) has laid enough foundation, so it’s admissible. The witness has given enough information on it so I’ll allow it.”
