Any Graduate Wey No Do NYSC Can Fit Contest For Governorship- Court  Don Rule

One High Court for Abuja don rule say graduates dem wey no participate for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme dey qualified to run for governorship election.

Justice M.A Mohammed na im give the ruling for pre-election suit wey Senator Iyabo Anisulowo file as dem dey challenge the elegibility of Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun, wey dey contest for the state governorship election.

Abiodun for his CFOO1 form wey im submit to INEC last year, yarn say im no get NYSC discharge certificate,  even though him don finish his first degree in 1986.

Anisulowo kon ask court say make dem disqualify Abiodun as the APC governorship candidate since im no participate for the mandatory NYSC scheme.

So for  the hearing of the case yesterday June 26th, Justice Mohammed yarn dis tori and after im dismiss  the case

“a person shall be qualified for election to the office of Governor of a State if:
(a) he is a citizen of Nigeria by birth;
(b) he has attained the age of thirty-five years;
(c) he is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party; and
(d) he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent.”
