Fulfilling My Dream As A Musician Makes Me The Happiest Guy On Earth.

Abiodun Oluwatunmise Akotun popularly known as Reero , Is a versatile singer, actor and a song writer whose aim is to inspire, entertain, through his music and his promoter Sylvester Agbator has been helping him to achieve some of his aim.

In secondary school, he played the drum set and sang for cultural and Christmas carols, In the year 2000 Akotun Abiodun decided he would like to pursue a career in music. And In 2001 Reero Recorded his first single titled “Wetin Dey” in your choice studio, produced by Eng Abbey, then in 2003 he bounced back with a hip hop track tittled ” Why ” 2004 was a fresh year for the young artist he came up with another track tittled “So Sad ” also done in your choice studio, he kept on struggling with the music industry, trying to make a name for himself, after releasing many tracks and attending live shows, Reero decided to go into barbing, to raise funds and support his music, after four (4) years of hardwork the young versatile artiste decided to come back into the music industry. In 2008 Reero dropped a Hit Single “OMOTOLA ” which got the streets of Lagos shaking and dancing to the tune, the track OMOTOLA finally gained him recognition and established him in the music industry,
OMOTOLA was recorded in Press Play Studio (PPS) and produced by Late veteran Producer Deccy, in 2010 Reero Continued relentlessly dropping another Love banger tittled ANGEL also produced by Deccy,
For many years the versatile singer Reero and the veteran producer Deccy, worked together in creating more good music for the ears of Nigerians,before the producer kicked the bucket.

In this short interview with him, He shed more light on his burgeoning career and other issues with Madamaproko.

When did you start singing?
I started singing at the age of 12. I was already performing at various school activities. i was given the chance to record my first studio song in 2001 (Wetin Dey) in a small studio called ” Your choice Studios ‘”  and also Dropped another single in 2003 tittled (Why), i have no studio album yet but have over 15 songs

Is there any reason in particular why you decided to be a musician?
Emm! My desire to start singing and wanting to be a musician is because I wanna become a super star. lol… I want to be known all over the world and I believe my music can do that for me. The truth is i found out I was gifted in it so I had to explore it, it’s my life, my hustle, my world”.

Educational background:
I studied Printing and Computer Science In Government Science & Technology College  at Ijebu ode, Ogun State

Do you compose your songs?
Yes I do compose my songs myself

Is there anything that comes to your mind while composing your songs?
Well, Yes !!! when composing my songs all that comes to my mind is how I am going to win people heart towards my music.

So how would you define your music style?
My music style is afro hip-hop.  Basically Love songs.

Why Love Songs?
I Sing Love Songs, Because It’s The Best Way To Express Myself And Reach Out To The World Both Locally And Internationally

How was Growing up like for you?
Hmm, growing up was not easy at all, well ,let leave that for now don’t like talking about it .

Are you in a relationship?
 Yes

Are you parents in support of you being a musician?
Not really.
How do you intend to stand out from the rest?
By coming out with something unique and outstanding,I mean good music.

What do you think about the music industry?
The Nigerian Music Scene Is Fast Growing And Spreading International, Gaining Recognition For Africa Which Is Very Good, The Level Of Competition Is Very Big, Everyday New Music, New Artiste, New Videos, No One Wants To Slack Or Give Chance To Another To Take Over But Its All About Standing Out, As An Upcoming Artist You Got To Have Something To Give Out To The People, Your Own Personal Style, Brand Of Music.

How did you feel when you got the opportunity of fulfilling your dream has a musician?
Fulfilling my dream as a musician makes me the happiest guy on earth.

As an upcoming artiste what are the challenges you’ve been facing and you are still facing?
 I face financial chllenges, you know the music business the show biz is a business that needs intensive capital… just think about the budget for shooting a video alone, it runs into millions and it’s not something you can easily come by or you can easily pull off on your own

So when should we be expecting your album?
My album should be out very soon. Don’t know exactly when dough.

How did you feel the first time you performed on stage?
I was very happy

Any crush on any female artiste?
Well, yes!!I have a crush on Yemi Alade

What inspired you into singing your latest song “skiboriko”?
It will be somehow funny too you, how the inspiration of the song came about.
There is this guy in my area called (sakiri), this guy has one particular dance step that inspires me, so I decided to do a song that will enable me too pass the dance step across the world .
