Killers Of The Former FUTA VC Sentenced To Death By Hanging

The long arm of the law has caught up with the killers of the former VC of FUTA as they have been sentenced to death after being found guilty by the court.

An Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure has sentenced to death by hanging the two men who killed Professor Albert Ilemobade, the former vice chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State.

David Ita Enang and Olayemi Bamitale were both found guilty for the murder of Prof Ilemobade.

Enang was a domestic staff while Bamitale was the former driver to the late academic whose decomposed remains were found in the store of his apartment at Ijapo Estate in Akure, days after he was he was thought to have been kidnapped.

Justice Olamide Williams in delivering his judgment sentenced the two accused to death by hanging, after the prosecuting counsels led by Adesola Tuki had proved beyond reasonable doubt that Prof Ilemobade was actually murdered by Enang and Bamitale, for selfish gains thus dismissing all attempts by the defense counsel to save their heads.

Justice Williams also found the two culprits guilty of robbery for taking away Prof Ilemobade’s Toyota RAV 4, laptops, phones, 7000 naira and other belongings before they were arrested in Iloti while they were trying to sell the sports utility vehicle.
